One of the biggest challenges in producing low cost TV is to find suitable music without having to pay royalties to the triangle player in the orchestra (let alone the guy who wrote the music).

Residuals - where royalties are due forever and a day - are an anathema to anyone running a low cost TV service and is seriously abused on vlogging sites such as Google Video and Youtube by members of the public ripping off tracks for their home videos.

The answer is a new breed of royalty-free music sites such as Media Music Now which offer a wide range of downloadable music very cheaply that can be used on any production at no further cost.
