Beware The Ides Of March

March Madness is upon us, and this might be an apt description of the US TV marketplace if some of the articles I've been reading today are to be believed. First of all, there's Sinclair threatening to take coverage of the basketball fest off Comcast. Then there's the ramping up of CBS's online coverage of the games. Could the two be related in any way I wonder ?

The reality is that channels can find their own paths to market over the internet and therefore have greater leverage over the distributors than ever before.
