Time After Time

Time Inc yesterday announced its new strategy which largely involved moving away from dead tree versions of its publications and adding more video to its websites.

Video is now an intrinsic part of any major online internet site - even the home page of Amazon now carries film trailers.

But what was interesting was a quote from a senior Time Inc exec that page views were becoming obsolete.

Temporal based measurement is going to become a necessity in the future and there will be a fundamental move away from sites that aim to get as many clicks as possible to channels that will aim to retain eyeball time.
