The Sell Out

The fifth channel in the UK, Five, now goes over to a poker channel at midnight. On the day when the UK seemed to have lost its supercasino, this tells you everything you need to know about television in the 21st century.

Research has shown that the best time to get anyone's attention with advertising is betwen 11pm and 1am (the rest of the time they're talking, bawling, eating, brewing tea or going to the toilet).

So, advertising looses to gambling.

Is this a sign of the times and something internet TV channels should learn from ?
