Search For Success

The technical subsidiary (although listed in its own right) of NewsCorp (NWS), NDS (NNDS) has been working on a new video portal and you can see a preview of Locate TV here.

It's a smart move, since the company has built its strategy around being the gateway to content, and this is a natural extension. I particularly like the way that it pulls together online, offline and broadcast content.

But it's becoming a crowded market, so maybe they can learn from the biggest driver for their traditional business - sports. All my experience shows that people search more for sports videos than for entertainment or news videos.
