It's curious that very few old world TV properties have successfully expanded online.
A few years ago I had a very famous TV presenter in my office physically jumping up and down at the possibilities of online video, but very little has manifested from this.
Of course, there are existing royalties and contracts to protect, but there an awful number of older brands that could be resurrected online.
In particular, reportage and consumer rights programmes would work well with a user contributed extension. Current TV has shown the way, but it's time for presenters, production companies and broadcasters to trawl their archives and see what they have, in my opinion.
