Anorak Time

Now, most people just like to watch TV, whatever the time, place, device. But others write standard and the Open IPTV Forum has just published a scary specification for a, well, open IPTV platform.

It's a bit dense and Visiotastic, but even to the layman there is some useful information that's worth trawling through to find.

The intention is admirable, but all my experience with IPTV is that everyone want to be proprietary, if they can possibly afford it. The very nature of a walled garden is to exclude others.

The real challenge is to specify a standard set of remote control calls for the Flash/Flex interface.
