Design by committee is always a bad idea and I'm hearing second hand rumours that not all is well at the ITV, C4 and BBC Worldwide internet TV JV, Kangaroo.
The rising storm between the BBC and ISPs such as Tiscali looms over the company's plans and putting together a number of conflicting parties with a complex development setup was always going to be a tough ask. For example, I've been told on good authority that each of the companies' ad booking and serving technologies are to be integrated into the platform.
The roaring success of streaming over downloads must also have thrown a very recent spanner into the spokes.
There is little doubt in my mind that Kangaroo will be a great success....eventually, but getting there is going to be painful.
