I recently accepted a position as the Non-executive Chairman of specialist science and agrestic production company, Telesgop back in my native Wales. Clearly, all production companies are now actively looking at their internet strategies and I hope that I'll be able to help this excellent company grow.
By coincidence one of the first items I saw on their regular weekly farming show was about the adoption of WiMax in remotest rural West Wales. It's worth a look from around (9.05 mins in) - if you understand Welsh. Otherwise you can read more about this initiative here on the Wales Broadband site.
I have little doubt that such services will proliferate and will, hopefully, act to moderate the action of the monopolistic telcos.
