Open Conflict For Google

Google may espouse 'openness' and 'do no evil' but their actions are becoming increasingly questionable.

Their latest move is to block access for users of the YouTube API that they do not want accessing their system (which naturally, does not include the major games device manufacturers). The irony is that it is easy to get around this by using a web browser, as Boxee does, but would Google then sue ? That would be an interesting precedent considering the stance Murdoch has been taking towards Google 'stealing' his company's content.

The trouble is, despite the interesting business models that have arisen in recent years, if you're running a commercial organisation, openness becomes your enemy.
