Samsung Change The Game

Perhaps the most significant news to emerge in the development of internet TV is that Samsung is building access to the BBC iPlayer and to UK Netflix clone Lovefilm into its screens. Yes, its TV screens. Not a box...

As we've long predicted on this blog, the eyes have it and the first thing a TV viewer sees is, well, whatever the TV manufacturer puts on its screen. There's a challenging time ahead for the STB industry...

It is also Samsung's first step to open out ongoing revenue streams from its screens. Expect most other screen manufacturers to follow suit.
