The IPAD has shifted 1 million units in 28 days - it took the IPhone 74 days to achieve the same result. Some suggest that this is just a fashion issue - hardcore Apple fans just have to have the latest product.
Another possible explanation is that the larger screen size on the IPAD allows a better user experience with many of the Apps such as games, video Apps and E-books and this is what is exciting the consumers. If the IPAD is viewed is a superior method of accessing the very wide range of Apps on the App store, its true USP, this may explain its rampant commercial success.
Either way this has created a new ecosystem for publishers and content owners which stands a very good chance of becoming the dominant marketplace for e-commerce.
