Google TV Falls Flat With Critics

Google's attempt to turn TVs into PCs (which is all their 'Google TV' initiative really is) seems to be coming a cropper. No doubt, as for all large companies with deep pockets, they will revisit and revisit until they get it right, but it is interesting to note what happens when computer engineers encounter the living room, and it's not a pretty sight.

So, Google, here's a hint. What I want is LESS. I want fewer buttons on my remote. I want just the channels I watch on my EPG and I want to be told what programmes I've already seen. In fact, I don't want set channels, I want dynamically created playlists or schedules of what I haven't seen available at any time on any of my viewing devices. I want any apps or complementary content on a separate screen, not cluttered on my lovely 50" widescreen. Oh, and if I pay, take away the bloody advertising. I'm sick of Sky having their cake and eating it...
