A Single Market For TV ?

An extraordinary situation is arising for broadcasters with an interim ruling from the European Court of Justice that the EU is a single market for broadcast services, so consumers are free to buy a box from 'out of market' and use it to deliver, say, football.

Indeed, the reason for this case was that a pub landlady was getting around paying the prohibitive fees levied by Sky (my local pub in Wales has just given up on having Sky available as a result), by using a Greek box (the commentary also probably makes more sense in Greek...).

There's more on this here.
