BT have delivered a great set of results and the success of the superfast broadband product gives us a good idea of what the customers are after going forward.
BT Infinity is a fiber based broadband product which offers 40mbps downstream and 10mbps upstream - more than enough for super high quality video applications.
The network is not built out yet but installations are running at 5,000 per week with an installed base of 144,000. Where customers have a choice 50% are electing to take the super high speed service.
Realistically only Virgin and BT can offer these super fast broadband services although other technologies / solutions may emerge.
The customers clearly feel the need for speed for video and interactive gaming - so hats off to BT for finally getting this product out there.
