Sitting here at IPTV World Forum it's staggering how little has changed in the TV world and I'm fast realising that we may, by now, need to change the name of this blog.
The IPTV world is all about walled gardens, set top boxes and confusing user experiences.
There is some concession to the future of television, words like 'cloud', 'social' and 'everywhere' have been pasted over the cracks.
Perhaps what is most surprising in a relatively small industry is how many players there are, mostly doing pretty much the same thing. Not a single stand or announcement had stood out.
I have to admit that I hate trade shows, perhaps I am doing the industry a dis-service after little more than a walk around.
The capital costs involved in TV means that it evolves very slowly, and the industry reflects that.
