Two Words....

It’s simple. You have an international smash hit on your hands, so you cancel the show.

800 Words is a beautifully crafted Antipodean tale that is by far my favourite TV series of the last decade. It travels well with its global yarns, and even encompasses a lot of Aussie involvement.

It is far better than any European or American equivalents and draws the viewer in subtly and carefully.

But TVNZ have cancelled the show after just three series.

If there was ever a programme strand to be taken up by the likes of Netflix or a Prime, this is it.  The concept has potentially many more series - I truly hope I get to see those programmes.
