Video Ad Pioneers Cash In

Congratulations to Jamie and the guys at Web TV Enterprise on their sale to ad network Collective. The company has been unique in the UK in getting advertisers to spend their broadcasting pounds on online video advertising and carved a clever and competent niche for themselves as a result.

It also shows how mainstream video advertising is becoming, and how more and more companies are now making a living from all aspects of the online video industry, from content publishers and syndicators such as Channel Flip and Filmbeat to channel operators (ITV.com now derives £24m in revenues from online videos).

As ever with new formats and technologies, it's taken a while to get here, but it looks like online video is, finally, mainstream.
