The most recent bombshell from Redmond was our discovery that operating systems such as Windows Mobile 5 and Media Centre Edition don't support server side playlists, ie you can't dynamically generate video clips and have them play in a Windows Media Player on either of these platforms. This is a serious misconnect between two core Microsoft technologies - their operating systems and their servers at a time when Vista seeks to extend multimedia capabilities (we have yet to assess if Vista suffers from the same shortcomings).
