One of the problems with inventing new technology is that it's very difficult to stop other people from imitating it (see TiVo's travails).
Slingbox are now facing serious competition from Sony and I'm sure others will follow. What Slingbox, to my knowledge, lack is a serious competitive advantage once the market gets flooded by the big boys. It's nice to see new, innovative companies breaking through, but it's becoming a tougher and tougher thing to achieve.
