The sins of some of the earlier acquisitions in TV 2.0 are coming back to bite the acquirers already. Sony has yet to manage to do anything with Grouper and Viacom has now announced that iFilm is to be merged into cable channel Spike's online presence (it cost $49m a year and a half ago).
The truth is that the user generated war has long been over and there was only one winner. The only option for anyone apart from Google (who, of course, are suffering their own pains with their acquisition) is to come up with a different business model for user generated video.
