Another sign of the times as venerable listings magazine, TV Guide, announces that it is to launch a video search engine. A sensible move since the alternative would be to publish a thousand page guide to cover the tens of thousands of online tv channels now appearing.
It does raise the old issue of how content will be found on the internet; search is fine for text, but works less well for video; suggestive algorithms such as are found on Pandora (for music) are another way forward, as are the use of traditional media and directories and EPGs.
