This story today made me reflect on how lucky those of us who are able to view video on the web unimpaired are. I'm a huge admirer of people like David Blunkett (whatever you think of his politics and autobiography) and my friend Frederic Beauvais, a successful fund manager in Paris, who manage great things despite being their blindness.
I'm delighted that companies like IBM are encouraging the development of technology that will extend the accessibility of video content for those with disabilities.
The technology may also have important uses down the line as we move into the era of video recognition. Good for Big Blue...
