Over the coming years, satellite will have a natural advantage over cable for the simple reason that it is capable of delivering more capacity and can therefore better cope with the move to HD.
The solution for the cablecos is to fight back with their natural advantage - their backchannel.

Cablecos will need to become more like IPTV providers, where content is switched at the server instead of on the local TV and will be able to use the backchannel for P2P type technologies and for user generated content.
