The BBC has announced that their eagerly anticipated iPlayer will be launched on 27th July. It will feature a seven day 'catch up' cycle and will initially only be available on PCs, which has in itself caused consternation, but does not currently offer a streaming service or simulcast as rival Channel 4 does (they also offer a catch up service).
