My recent blogs about Limelight's IPO (LLNW) seem to have come true in a rather dramatic manner. As I write, their stock has plunged almost 40% after they turned to losses from being profitable before they listed and issued a profits warning.
CDNs are a commodity business that will add little value without applications - which is why Akamai (AKAM) has been moving rapidly in this direction. It's time for Limelight to spend some of the cash they raised before the sector matures.
