iPlayer Debacle

The debacle that is the BBC's iPlayer rumbles on - I still haven't been able to test it since I have no access in London to an XP PC, so I have a lot of sympathy with those petitioning to make it cross platform.

The first principle of the BBC should be equal access to all taxpayers - this goes as much for DAB and digital TV as it does for internet services.

However, all the reports I've seen indicate that it leaves a lot to be desired. Then you have the ongoing debate around P2P and the unhappiness of ISPs at subsidising the BBC, the restricted choices of programming and the slow download times (which, from reports, seems to work better as more people access the content), the lack of streaming and the clunky user experience.

After years and millions of pounds isn't it time to call the BBC accountable over this mess ?
