It sounds like one of the trends at CES is devices to deliver video images from the PC to the TV. Sling Media have been demonstrating their PC to TV device, for example.
Such devices have been around for a decade or more, but are now finding mainstream demand.
The Apple TV is a rather limited example and other companies such as Pinnacle and Sony (through a dongle) also offer this functionality.
Before long I'd expect TVs to come with built in WiFi so that they can receive video images from any PC on a local network and this will open up the path to WiMax TV broadcasting - a real technical opportunity for hyper-local broadcasting. Provided the regulatory authorities don't step in.
