Window Dressing

A lot of commentators have become very excited over the announcement by Google that they are 'opening out' the YouTube platform.

The reality is that they are renaming Google Video to YouTube SDK (or something like that).

The nice thing about both services has been they've always provided free bandwidth; now they're still providing free bandwidth but throwing their own ads in. Vive la change..

But, with YouTube - now the most popular Google site - you can't but feel that a switch has been thrown on a new revenue source. Will they 'do a Revver' and share revenue ?

Finally, it should be remembered that these services come in short form grainyvision - not a format all ad brands will find suitable.
