I'm just back from Zurich where local startup Zattoo was on the tip of everyone's tongues. It's basically a live, georestricted, legal simulcast service which gives you a few simulcast channels not available anywhere else, eg in the FIVE, BBC Three, Four and Parliament.
A better model IMHO thank Joost or Babblegum who are trying to re-invent the wheel.

The benefit of applications like Joost is that the rights holder benefits from any revenue - Zattoo looks and feels and is acting like a piracy tool.
