Broadband Poor

I'm hoping that my personal crusade to improve broadband provision in rural areas is beginning to take some steps forward in Wales, where a campaign to do something about the paucity of bandwidth in the country is getting underway.

There is some provision in Wales, but the problem is that it is patchy and does not draw competition as a result of the unique geography and relatively sparse population in many parts of the country.

Recently, it dismayed me to find out that it will be the end of 2011 until I can hope to receive C21 provisioning in my home in North Wales and there are no plans for LLU.

Wales is five years behind even rural areas of France in this respect, and since the information economy is what this impoverished part of Britain needs to depend on for its future wealth, this should be a national imperative.
