The End Of The Beginning

It seems that I spoke too soon in praising MediaZone's success in a recent blog. I understand that they are now pulling out of the US market and reconciling around their parent company base in South Africa.

Overall it seems that the new players in the Internet TV market continue to struggle as the traditional TV player use their existing marketing and distribution muscle to leverage their online video presence.

It all reminds me of the post .com era where the industry almost imploded before finding its feet as advertising revenues finally moved online.

Clearly, we are reaching the end of the first wave of Internet TV as company after company fails or gets acquired.
