It's been an interesting morning of news for the UK TV industry with BSkyB finally posting their bid for ISP Tiscali (who also own Tiscali TV, formerly Home Choice), whilst Virgin Media manage to re-arrange their debt mountain.
The UK TV industry is far from a level playing field.
But it should be interesting to see what Sky do with Tiscali TV - the company already offers broadband to its TV customers through its acquisition of Easynet, now it has the opportunity to extend its reach, something that Virgin should have done ages ago by using broadband to enhance its basic cable propositions to areas it does not cover - but I suspect that the usual lack of funds may have been behind this missed opportunity.
