Bravehearts

With Sony announcing 18,000 jobs are to go in its businesses (and analyst friends of mine are predicting this will actually need to be 35,000) it’s clear that whole divisions will be wiped out.

Sony had finally started to make the right moves with its Bravia dongle and in adding TV to the PS3, but innovation is one of the first victims of a recession and it’ll be interesting to see how the company progresses with some of its more imaginative initiatives.

And this goes for other companies too. The old Chinese proverb goes “Crisis is an opportunity sailing on an ill wind”.

We shall see who the good sailors are.
