Now, one of the hottest subjects in my rather esoteric corners of the universe is the deployment of Flash on mobile devices. Just as Steve Jobs, somewhat justifiably trashes the technology's ability to run on mobiles, Skyfire has just come up with a way of making Flash Video work on Android phones.
Meanwhile, at VidZapper the team has been working on developing encoding that will work on all devices, based on an MP4 wrapper and H.264 codec. With our new range of players now available for Android, iPhone and iPad, and other mobile platforms and devices on the way, this is becoming an increasing concern since supporting multiple formats, data rates, etc.. is, to say the least a nightmare.
VP8, Ogg Theora and MKV will all have their day, perhaps, but our money's on MP4 for now.
