On the 28th May Ofcom published its Consultation Document on the Digital Economy Act ("DEA") 2010 "Obligations Code". The intention is to provide the specific ways in which content owners can deal with ISP's on a practical basis to get IP Pirates shut down and their internet connections terminated via a 3 step process. Interested parties have until 30th July to contribute to this consultation and given the intense lobbying of the ISP's already content owners would be well advised to get involved before the positive intentions of the DEA are watered down via the introduction of unworkable or expensive proceedures for closing down the IP Pirates. For more information please visit Ofcom's website.
