Wedding Winners

Apparently there was a wedding on today, and it resulted in the largest TV audience of all time, with 400 cameras and 33 studios it's not a bad rehearsal for another major event coming to London next year. Certainly no one I talked today in the US, India or Australia in the course of business had missed it.

Of course, this is the first time that the Internet has been around for an event of this kind at this scale and it seems to have coped admirably.

But as ever, there were winners and losers. YouTube has proved that it is a platform that can handle TV size live audiences and ITV's coverage, from what I saw, was excellent. But the losers were the BBC with many telling me they switched over from the stilted coverage and there were reports of the website going down.
