No Case For CES

I'm not at CES this year, but there seem to be some coherent themes:

1) Screens - bigger, better and with more bells and whistles
2) Microsoft - not there: looks like they've given up. Who can blame them after the totally pisspoor Win8.
3) Hype - over nothing interesting or new..
4) Driverless cars

The real changes to the media industry are happening invisibly in the cloud, and that's a difficult and expensive thing to hype at a trade show.
